i honestly think that gaaras story is the only (relevant) character in teh whole series whos story is actually like, finished 

if narutos main thing was creating a new generation that was better than the last,and changing the mistakes of the past, and everythings the same and hes a terrible father then i geuss his story isn’t finished until his son’s is

nothing was ever done about the uchiha massacre or discrimination so sasukes isnt either,if sasukes isnt then neither is itachi, obito, etc, (or madara/hashirama)if obitos isnt than kakashis isnt either etc 

nejis was scrapped lol

like, gaaras thing was more about himself and not necessarily too much connected to the other main characters, bc his was about child abuse adn manipulation, accepting trauma but not forgiving, learning to open yourself up and learn from whats happened to you but not necessarily find it acceptable even if you see the purpose, that reaching out to others is always a better way to heal than shutting yourself off 

like, its a really really good thing to teach kids that adults are not always right or do the smartest thing and that traumatic experiences have validity. and his story ended when he came to accept himself when his father told him the truth and had a breakdown, like he had closure to who he is and he accepts it, but i like how it also shows later that its still painful w the tsukuyomi. its ok to still feel pain from something that hurt you a long time ago, its ok to feel that forever. 

like, he had a very clear beginning, middle and end and i cant really see how it would get fucked up too much unless they make him like a shit dad or smth but still since most of it was about self discovery so unless he like, regresses back to being a brat i still think hes the only character in the series with a finished arc and its one of my faves 2
