ok ok so. my first ever makeup review. this is it
i’m not usually a lipstick person, because i always end up licking my lips/wiping them on my sleeves/etc without noticing and it isn’t something you should do when wearing lipstick. i own like one red lipstick for ~fancy occasions~ and that’s it. also it always felt weird having something on my lips and not being able to touch them?? it’s kind of irrational but it’s Me.
so when i first heard of the Superstay 24 Color by Maybelline (i think it was on a tumblr post a long time ago but i digress) i was like holy shit??? a lipstick that couldn’t be rubbed off without a strong makeup remover would solve All my problems?? but i think they didn’t sell it in brazil at the time so i kinda forgot about it for a couple of years, until i saw it on a drugstore near my house. needless to say i was p Stoked
ok now for the actual product review
i couldn’t wait till i got home to apply it, so i put it on in the shopping mall’s bathroom. it’s a 2-step lipstick, where the first part is the color (the actual lipstick) and the second is a lip balm of sorts (i figure it’s to moisturize and keep the color on your lips for longer). i’m not an expert on applying stuff on my lips, but it was fairly easy since it’s a liquid lipstick. you let it dry completely, and then apply the second step
and it’s so amazing?? like, it was super hot outside and i had to walk home, but even w/ me sweating and stuff it didn’t smear at all. when i was applying it some of the color got on my fingers and i couldn’t wash it off even using a lot of soap. it’s exactly what it says on the tin
also it’s amazing bc i don’t feel it on my lips at all?? it feels like i’m not wearing anything and it’s so Ideal. i def recommend it like it’s worth every penny (it was about 35 brazilian reais but i don’t Know if that’s normal price for lipstick. anyway)
the one i bought is a sort of darkish red (i think the color is called Flame but i’m not sure), mainly bc the other colors were all shades of pink and i kinda hate pink lipstick. which is p sad bc shades of red (specially the darker ones) tend to look Dramatic on me bc i’m so pale. but if your skin is darker it’s probably a good tone for day-to-day wear!! hell i plan on using it a lot even if it looks too strong on me just bc it’s so beautiful. so yeah. i don’t know how to write reviews but that’s a solid 5/5
