imagine Leorio forgetting to delete his porn history before he lets someone else use his laptop
killua expects something really wild. it turns out leorio’s kink is romantic sex and he’s so disappointed
you know what i think about? razor called gon a monster. meleoron told gon he felt something inhuman in him. and i think to myself, “i wonder if that’s foreshadowing that gon is a tiny little humanoid abomination. 50% dark continent being, 50% gremlin”
adding on to this in a more serious tone, gon might not even be 50% gremlin.
gon said to mito after the election arc that ging (paraphrased) “didn’t feel like a father to him” and though he said he was joking about the next part, that he didn’t feel like he was “cut out to be a son” either.
surely it was meant to be a nod to the fact that ging and gon don’t have a typical father-son relationship dynamic since they’re not typical people. surely that’s what it was.
surely gon saying ging didn’t feel like his father, rather a “distant relative”, is totally unimportant from a narrative standpoint and is merely a reflection on how strange they are as people.
surely the fact that another freecss, linked to the dark continent, has been introduced to the storyline has no relation to gon’s words.
surely it’s all just coincidence that doesn’t mean anything
Gon: Hey, remember that guy who’s heart you stole at the Hunter Exam?
Killua: You mean that Johness The Dissector guy?
Gon: No, bro. I meant…me.
Killua: Bro…
my favorite au in hxh is the one where togashi releases a new chapter
im sorry i was just reminded. in greed island when killuas hands get fucked up he doesnt even tell anyone and everyones like Oh my God killua.. killua you cant play like that look at your poor hands. killua you must be in so much pain
then hisokas like “hey all my fingers are broken” and he gets completely ignored
I love how the things that make gon seem adorable and innocent and the things that make him seem ruthless and terrifying are completely connected
he’s clueless about a lot of things (including some normal perceptions of morality)
he’s extremely forgiving (even when the person in question has done awful things that just didn’t happen to affect him personally)
he’s very trusting (because he can afford to be; if the person in question turns out to betray him he can just tear them apart and continue on his way)
he cares deeply for his friends (and has absolutely zero mercy for those who hurt them)
he deals with everything through unfailing optimism (and breaks down in spectacularly destructive ways when that optimism finally fails him)
he loves the thrill of adventure (especially combat)
i love gon. i love how complex and layered he is and how he turns the “plucky innocent shonen protagonist” trope completely on its head. I love Hunter x Hunter so much
