I looked up “ovaries on a microscope” on google images and somehow I can kinda see what you mean? they seem innocent. untainted by sin

honestly, everything looks kinda cute on the microscope. intestines? cute as fuck, look at them microvilli and goblet cells. absolutely adorable. blood? don’t even get me started on that, erythrocytes are cuddly pink spheres of love and all the different leukocytes are beautiful and unique.

but ovaries are specially cute to me bc you can see all the stages of an ovarian follicle’s development. from a wee lil primordial follicle to a gigantic, marvelous Graaf follicle ready to pop and get fertilized, it’s all in there and it’s absolutely beautiful. my classmates had to put up with me crying over finding an intact corona radiata in lab class this week

the corona radiata is the structure that kinda looks like sunrays around the ovocyte. the dark purple thing between the corona and the ovocyte is the zona pellucida, which has to be chewed by the sperms in order to fertilize the egg. it’s very exciting to be able to actually see and identify all the structures we learn in class

ikr. the most mind-boggling thing these girls post is that they seem 100% convinced that trans women are “men” who want to infiltrate feminism or something like that. which is?? preposterous at best?? or they see trans men as just poor misguided lesbians corrupted by the Male Power or some shit. man i’ve honestly tried to see their side of things and there’s even some interesting ideas in a couple of their works but it’s just. god it’s so surrounded by shit

o funk foi inventado pelo o que temos de cnidário dentro de nós. alguns de nós são pouco cnidários, o resto curte uma valeska e uns MC Carol

algumas pessoas são stomphia: criam o próprio ritmo frente à adversidade; outras são como a caravela-portuguesa: aglomerados de organismos muito semelhantes que são levados pelas ondas e não possuem movimento próprio

cara eu fui ver o video da stomphia na sua sidebar esperando sei lá uma piada ou algo do tipo mas não era realmente um documentario. e um documentario bom tb eu sinto que eu acabei de conhecer minha tatara tatara tataravó e ela era uma cnidária

acho que a stomphia é o meu cnidário favorito (é uma escolha difícil porque os cnidários são um grupo mto variado e interessante) porque ela é um lembrete bem claro de que muitas dessas criaturinhas que parecem plantas ou pedras esquisitas no fundo do mar são, na verdade, organismos vivos com um nível até que interessante de complexidade. é fácil esquecer que esses organismos sésseis são animais também, mas o rebolar gostoso e sensual de uma stomphia em fuga é uma lembrança bem clara disso. 

e, se formos para o lado filosófico da coisa, é interessante pensar que o sistema nervoso central humano, com sua imensa complexidade e capacidade de criar grandes obras de arte, inventar dispositivos e entender o mundo ao seu redor, era, há milhões de anos atrás, tão simples quanto os impulsos rudimentares que fazem a stomphia rebolar diante de predadores.
