yeah like. the greed island arc ends on episode 75 iirc and the episode where the BIG FUCK UP happens is the 76. like i’d recommend that you watch the 76, then watch only the first ep from the old series (the thing is even more detailed/emotional than in the manga and DEFINITELY better that in the new series), and if you can read chapter 185 of the manga. like then you can compare how MUCH they altered that v important relationship in the new series and stuff.
