Oh my god I’m obsessed with this.
a. this is not a HIPAA violation in the slightest
b. this is almost definitely fake; y’all thinking that looking up shit on webMD and google makes you even close in clinical knowledge and experience to a licensed medical professional is fucking wild and stupid as shit lmao
also gonna point out that while this is funny, and this has actually happened and to me when i googled my gf’s heart-attack-like symptoms in the ER waiting room and it turned out to be, exactly as google predicted, costochondritis–
(turns out that some basically harmless inflammation is really hard to distinguish from a heart attack by symptoms alone)
–medical professionals aren’t just going for the #1 google hit answer, they’re sifting through a ton of other possible explanations, many of which don’t fit the full symptom list or even half of it, and are compounded by everything from other pre-existing conditions to diet. i’m willing to bet every person in that room could have told you the stint was the obvious answer in about ten seconds, but you don’t really want to hit the I’m Feeling Lucky button on somebody’s life.
