i wish more straight people could make an effort to understand that not being straight can be such an incredibly lonely experience, and that’s a huge, huge reason why we’re so upset about the shitty state of media representation. we feel alone in our own lives and then when we finally see something we can relate to and connect with it just gets torn away, almost every single time, and more often than not it’s done brutally. it doesn’t take much to take a step back from your own opinions and try to empathize with other people, learn about why they’re feeling what they’re feeling, and it’s so frustrating that a lot of people just refuse to get it.
