It’s never going to be the same. Not the same power dynamics at all. Someone staring at me or harassing me to assert their dominance over me and get high off making me scared and upset is someone who is probably never going to be in a situation where they feel that feeling in the same way so it’s so stupid and belittling to be like “don’t LET men stare at you” sorry but I shouldn’t have to make every day of my life some battle like that. Like yeah how about I sacrifice my safety and wellbeing to make a point that makes no sense. I can stare at you too but it’s not from the view point of a predator staring at a piece of meat

A woman from one of my uni classes last year experimented with this (staring back at the men who stared at her) and they universally took it as a sexual invitation. Most of them winked. It’s not the same at all.
