i literally just saw a post that was basically “men who want to be gynecologists are creeps who just want to poke at vaginas and rape their patients!! gynecology is for females and should be practiced solely by women!!” and i honestly had to read it over like 8 times to identify that it wasn’t satirical

- from the perspective of someone living in a country where the vast majority of uterus-having people have no access to proper gynecologists
- however in a world where people are dying from lack of doctors and basic health care structures the logical direction would be to expand

- the thought of restricting the gynecologic field to about half of the students at medical school makes me feel repulsed
- there IS an important discussion to be had on doctors abusing their patients in any field im not denying that
